WHY BILLY GOAT mountain?
Our name, Billy Goat Mountain Village, came from the long history of Buffalo Mountain being heavily populated with Billy goats. The goats were beloved local characters with visitors driving by to see them and leave treats. Growing up on Billy Goat Mountain, Hootie and Christine's daughters believed the goats to be their pets since they would come into the yard to snack on grass and trees. The goats have passed on, but their memory lives on throughout Billy Goat Mountain Village.

Billy Goat Mountain Village is owned and operated by Hootie & Christine Smith. Their vision of providing beautiful lodging coupled with life-long memories for trail riders has been a treasured dream for many years. Their goal is to provide an authentic Appalachian adventure experience in luxury and comfort.
